Climate Action and Environmental Awareness in Communities
Empowering Women and Girls Through Practical Skills April 4,…
We provide facilitation and capacity building so youth and women can engage in global development initiatives.
SPOKES AFRICA is a community-driven organization based in Uganda, dedicated to transforming the lives of refugee and host-community youth and women. We believe that every young person, regardless of their displacement status, has the potential to become an agent of positive change.
Founded to address the urgent challenges faced by over 1.9 million refugees in Uganda, we combine entrepreneurial mindset development, social empowerment, and sustainable livelihood creation to break cycles of dependency and vulnerability.
We support women and girls with skills, mentorship, and economic opportunities that help them gain independence in their refugee communities.
We help vulnerable children and youth access quality education, stay in school, and build knowledge that prepares them for a stable future.
We take part in environmental protection and climate action activities that promote responsible use of natural resources and community resilience.
Learning sustainable farming practices and agri-enterprise skills that help produce food, earn income, and support the refugee households.
We teach refugees how to gain practical business skills and support that helps start and grow small enterprises for long term income.
We build leadership, life skills, and practical knowledge that prepare youth to take responsibility and create positive change in their refugee community.
Uganda hosts over 1,971,983 refugees – majority from DRC. Approximately 894,980 are young people (12–35 years). Only 9% of refugee youth access secondary education (OPM 2025).
Extreme poverty forces many to drop out, exposing them to risks: negative peer influence, drug abuse, early pregnancy, theft, erosion of moral values. SPOKES AFRICA connects and empowers refugee and host-community youth through entrepreneurial mindset development, social empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.
Support programs that provide education, skills training, and livelihood opportunities for refugee and host community youth and women.
Help a vulnerable child stay in school by covering essential needs such as fees, learning materials, and basic support.
Offer your time and skills to support community programs, training sessions, and outreach activities that empower youth and women.
To provide facilitation and capacity building that will enable youth and women engage in global development initiatives.
To create a self-sustaining generation of youths and women in Africa.
Your support can help a refugee youth access education, start a business, or grow food sustainably.
